Donald Trump is ramping up his campaign efforts in a bid to regain momentum as the Democrats launch their convention in Chicago.
Trump’s grueling schedule of daily events across key battleground states aims to challenge the Democratic narrative and capitalize on areas where Republicans believe they have an edge.
The DNC is set to kick off today under the theme “For the People” with President Biden expected to deliver the keynote speech today.
This week marks Trump’s busiest campaign stretch since the Republican primary.

The itinerary includes stops in Pennsylvania, Michigan, North Carolina, and the southwest border in Arizona, with additional visits to Nevada and other key states.
Trump’s events are set to address issues like the economy, crime, and national security.
However there are concerns from supporters that his policy-focused appearances may veer into the familiar territory of his off-the-cuff, rambling rally speeches as they have in the past.
Last month, crowd members started to leave a rally in Pennsylvania after Trump arrived an hour late then delivered a 90-minute speech that focused on attacking Kamala Harris.
There are fears his personal attacks and inflammatory comments—such as unfounded claims about AI-generated crowd images and racially charged remarks—might alienate swing voters and harm his chances in what many Republicans consider a highly winnable race.
Allies, including South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham, have urged Trump to concentrate on policy rather than personality, emphasizing the importance of appealing to undecided voters.
“If you have a policy debate for president, he wins,” Graham noted on NBC’s Meet the Press. “Donald Trump the provocateur, the showman, may not win this election.”
Supporter Kory Jeno from Swannanoa, North Carolina reflected a desire for a more disciplined campaign message.
He told AP: “He needs to keep the conversation on the issues and what he’s doing to do for Americans instead of running off on tangents where he’s just bashing her and that sort of thing.”
A number of Republicans have endorsed Kamala Harris over Trump and key figures are set to appear at the DNC including Adam Kinzinger and Ana Navarro.
Harris received yet another GOP endorsement from a Republican on Sunday, from former Rep. Barbara Comstock.
Earlier this month, the Harris for President campaign announced the “Republicans for Harris” program, to further outreach efforts to Republican voters.
Harris has taken a significant lead over former President Donald Trump in three key battleground states, according to a new poll.
The poll shows Harris leading Trump by more than the margin of error in three of seven competitive states in the 2024 election: Michigan (51% to 44%), Wisconsin (50% to 44%) and Nevada (48% to 44%).
