Donovan McNabb Reveals His Mount Rushmore of All-Time NFL QBs

All throughout sports history the debate about who the greatest players are always seems to be controversial. Everyone has an opinion on the matter, right or wrong.

In the NFL, the first players typically under consideration for being the Greatest of All-Time are quarterbacks. The quarterback position is among the most important in sports and has taken on an entirely new life of its own over the years.

One of the better quarterbacks to play in the NFL over the last 20 years was Donovan McNabb. McNabb knows what it means to win games in the NFL and he did it at an extremely high level.

But which quarterbacks are on McNabb’s Mount Rushmore? He spoke with John Robinson IV and Doug McKain of LA Sports Report and weighed in on this question.

“Not in any order: Joe Montana, Tom Brady, John Elway, and Warren Moon.”

McNabb’s list is an interesting one and does have a few recognizable names from most people’s lists.

Brady is arguably the GOAT of the NFL after winning seven Super Bowl titles during his long career. He won six of them while a member of the New England Patriots and then won his last title while with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Montana was seen as the GOAT before Brady came around. He won four Super Bowls with the San Francisco 49ers, taking home the Super Bowl MVP three times. Montana also won the MVP award twice during his career and made the Pro Bowl eight times.

Elway helped lead the Denver Broncos to win two Super Bowls, claiming one Super Bowl MVP. He made nine Pro Bowls and won the MVP award in 1987.

Moon is likely the most controversial on his list but he did make nine Pro Bowls during his career. He led the NFL in passing yards in 1990 and 1991 and is part of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

However, noticably, McNabb didn’t have star Patrick Mahomes on his list. But he did say if Mahomes were to put together a few more successful seasons, it would cement him atop the Mount Rushmore.

“Another four to five years of success. He’s accomplished a lot early on, but consistently doing it over a longer period will solidify his place.”

This is massive praise for Mahomes but he has earned it. He has already won three Super Bowls and three MVP awards. His next NFL chapter is still being written and he has a chance to become the GOAT when all is said and done.
