Drone attack on aid workers in Gaza, 2 army commanders fired

7 human rights activists were killed in a drone strike by the occupying Israeli military while distributing food in the besieged Gaza Strip. Israel has dismissed two military officers in this incident.

On Friday, citing Israel's Channel 14, TRT reported that two commanders of the Nahal Brigade were dismissed by the Chief of General Staff of the Army, Harji Halevi.

It also reprimanded three others for their involvement in drone strikes. The military officials were sacked following an inquiry into the incident under a retired army general.

On the other hand, Israel's war planning and policies are being criticized. The country's military spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari told reporters, “We are responsible for this incident.” It is a tragedy. We will make sure this does not happen again.

Human rights activists working in Gaza have long complained of uncooperative and unsafe conditions. However, Israel has denied this allegation until now.

UK-based NGO Oxfam official Scott Paul said, “The killing of aid workers in Gaza was not an accident, but premeditated.” According to the United Nations, 220 human rights activists have been killed in the Israel-Hamas war so far.
