Efficient and fair land management to be ensured: Minister of Lands


Lands Minister Narayan Chandra Chand urged the land officials to work towards building Smart Bangladesh by implementing sustainable people-friendly land services inspired by the spirit of independence.

He said this in his speech as the chief guest at a discussion meeting titled 'Leadership and Development Thought of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman' organized on the occasion of the Great Independence and National Day at Bhumi Bhavan in Tejgaon of the capital on Tuesday (March 26).

The land minister said, after our independence, Bangabandhu gave importance to the fair and sustainable use of land and the fair rights of people over land in the formation of the country and nation. After the independence of Bangladesh, he took various landmark decisions on land issues.

He said that his (Bangabandhu's) privileged daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina took the land management reform program seriously in the same sequence and took it as one of the parts of Smart Bangladesh implementation and Delta Plan.

Lands Minister Narayan Chandra Chand also said to the land officials that at the call of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the brave freedom fighters jumped into the historic struggle for the national liberation of the country and the people.

He said, in the same way, in this independent Bangladesh, on the call of the Prime Minister, we as people's representatives and you as people's employees should work diligently to implement Smart Bangladesh and change the economic destiny of the country and people.

He also said that land is directly and indirectly related to the interests of every citizen of the country. Lack of efficient and fair land management is a hindrance to national development. Therefore, to ensure a smart Bangladesh, efficient and fair land management must be ensured.
