Elections will not be unacceptable without Awami League: Dr. Badiul

Electoral System Reform Commission Chief and Secretary for Good Governance (Sujan) Dr. Badiul Alam Majumder said, 'Many of them fled after the Prime Minister fled. No one can be found to lead now. If there is a national election without the Awami League, that election will not be unacceptable.

He said, 'Awami League has completely destroyed the electoral system in this country by holding elections in the middle of the night. In the last three elections, almost everyone associated with the election, including the Election Commission, Police, Administration, Returning Officer, Polling Officer, were involved in criminal activities. The Election Commission has committed a clear violation of the Constitution by partisanship on various pretexts. Disobeyed the court order. Overzealous and biased behavior. Therefore, the issue of prosecution of all those accused of election crimes should be seriously considered.

Badiul Alam said these things in the shadow parliament organized on 'State repair and national elections under the protection of democracy' at the capital's FDC on Saturday (September 14). Chairman of Debate for Democracy Hasan Ahmed Chowdhury Kiran presided over the event.

The head of the Electoral System Reform Commission said, 'The current government is not a caretaker government, the caretaker government was a routine government. The interim government has to gather momentum to clear the mess of 15-16 years. Even then, delaying national elections could undermine public confidence in the interim government. The Election Commission has shown irresponsibility regarding the planned attack on Nayapaltan on October 28 to keep BNP out of the elections. Couldn't prepare a flat field for elections. At that time, he deliberately registered a few alleged parties to implement the government's outline.

Stating that the work of reforming the election system has started, he said, 'Reformation of the RPO Act and Election Commission appointment process will be proposed.'

In the President's speech, Chairman of Debate for Democracy Hasan Ahmed Chowdhury Kiran said, 'The people of this country have not forgotten how the voting of the day took place at night. Dead people voted. People residing abroad also voted. 100% votes have been cast somewhere. Children also voted. I and dummy candidate were elected. The same person voted and voted again standing in line. Voted repeatedly. ists were prohibited from entering polling stations. Although 8 to 10 percent votes were counted, the number of votes was increased to 40 to 45 percent.'
