Things just got a little interesting regarding Los Angeles Rams star defender Ernest Jones IV. Early Sunday morning, it was reported that Jones received permission from the Rams for him and his representatives to look for a trade out of Los Angeles.

He has been dealing with contract negotiations with the Rams and so far, nothing has come about. But Jones just took to social media to refute the report that he asked to leave Los Angeles.

If Jones IV is to remain with the Rams, it would be a massive win for the team before the start of the season. He has become a leader on the defensive end of the field and losing him would sting.

The Rams just lost All-Pro defensive tackle Aaron Donald to retirement this offseason so Jones IV’s presence is paramount. He and the Rams still do need to come to terms on a new deal if he is to remain in Los Angeles long-term.
