Evolution Dome launches The Pink Book a practical guide to using inflatable temporary structures at live events

Inflatable event structure specialist Evolution Dome will officially launch The Pink Book at International Confex 2026, a practical, experience-led guide designed to support event organisers using inflatable temporary structures in both indoor and outdoor environments.

Developed from an extensive series of industry-led articles, The Pink Book addresses a growing need in the events sector for clear, reliable, and operationally grounded guidance on the use of inflatable structures. As these structures are increasingly deployed at exhibitions, conferences, festivals, public events, brand activations and venue-based installations, organisers are under greater pressure to balance creativity with safety, compliance and performance.

While produced by Evolution Dome, The Pink Book has been intentionally created as an organiser-first resource rather than a promotional document. Its content is designed to be relevant to any event professional considering inflatable structures, regardless of event size, sector or setting.

Ash Austin, founder of Evolution Dome, explains, “Temporary and inflatable structures are now a core part of modern event infrastructure, yet organisers are often required to navigate fragmented and inconsistent advice around safety standards, regulatory compliance, sustainability, build methodology and operational risk. At the same time, expectations around audience experience, accessibility, environmental responsibility and public accountability continue to rise, meaning that temporary infrastructure is no longer a simple or low-risk decision.”

The Pink Book has been created to address this gap by providing a single, accessible reference grounded in real-world delivery rather than theoretical best practice. Drawing on 15 years of live event experience, the guide covers the full lifecycle of inflatable temporary structures, from early planning and supplier engagement through to build, operation and breakdown.

The guide explores key considerations, including structural safety and compliance, planning permission and licensing, working with local authorities, inclusive and accessible design, weather resilience, operational risk management, build time and budget planning, sustainability and reuse. It also covers the use of inflatable structures across indoor, outdoor and hybrid event environments and highlights the importance of early supplier involvement and cross-supplier collaboration.

“Rather than focusing on innovation for its own sake, The Pink Book emphasises reliability, consistency and partnership. This reflects the realities faced by organisers delivering events under tight timelines, financial constraints and increasing public and regulatory scrutiny,” added Austin.

The Pink Book will be officially launched at International Confex 2026, where Evolution Dome will be exhibiting on Stand F30C. Visitors to the stand will have the opportunity to learn more about the thinking behind the guide, discuss real-world applications of inflatable structures with the Evolution Dome team, and receive a copy of the guide.

The launch of The Pink Book is part of Evolution Dome’s wider commitment to supporting the events industry through practical knowledge sharing and technical delivery, helping organisers make informed, confident decisions about temporary inflatable structures in both indoor and outdoor settings.
