Farzana Rupa and Shakeel were arrested in the case

The popular journalist couple Shakil Ahmed and Farzana Rupa have been arrested from the capital's Shahjalal International Airport in a murder case. Shakil Ahmed was the former chief news editor of 71 Television and Farzana Rupa was the former chief reporter of the organization.

This information was confirmed by the media and public relations department of DMP on Wednesday (August 21).

According to DMP, former Chief News Editor of 71 Television Shakil Ahmed and Chief Reporter Farzana Rupa were arrested from Shahjalal International Airport on Wednesday (August 21) afternoon in the case of Uttara East Police Station.

On that day, when they came to the airport to go abroad, the immigration authorities detained them and handed them over to DB.

According to airport sources, Shakil Ahmed, Farzana Rupa and her daughter were detained at 8:20 am. They arrived at the airport on a Turkish Airlines flight (TK-713) to Paris via Istanbul.
