Female laborer died of heat stroke in Haripur


A laborer named Latifa Begum (40) died of heat stroke while renovating the road in Haripur of Thakurgaon. The incident took place on Monday (April 29) at noon in Singhari village of Bakua Union of the upazila. Latifa Begum is the wife of deceased Moksedul of Nargun village of upazila.

According to local sources, Latifa Begum's Debar Ilyas got the job of the 40-day employment program for the extremely poor. In the morning Latifa Begum joined the work as a laborer along with other workers. He was working to cut the soil to rebuild the dirt road. At this time he suddenly fell ill. He later died on the way to the Upazila Health Complex by other workers.

Bakuya Union Parishad Chairman. Abu Taher said that the woman worker suddenly fell ill while working and lost consciousness. Later he died on the way to the Upazila Health Complex for treatment. A few days ago, this woman's husband also died of heart disease.

Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Md. Shamimuzzaman said, I think the woman worker died due to heat stroke due to excessive heat. To avoid heat stroke, avoid peak times of sun.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Haripur Thana Police Abdul Latif Sheikh said, after the body of Latifa Begum, a woman worker, is presumed to have died in heat stoke after the report. The body was handed over to the family as there was no objection from his relatives.
