Fire at BNP office in Jhenaidah, case against 468 people

A case has been filed with the police station mentioning the names of 468 people in the incident of vandalism and arson in Jhenaidhe district BNP office.

Jhenaidah district BNP co-secretary Sakib Ahmed Bappi filed this case at Sadar police station as the plaintiff.

According to the case sources, Naib Ali Zoardar, former Member of Parliament of Jhenaidah-1 Constituency, former Member of Parliament of Jhenaidah-2 Constituency and District Awami League President Shafiqul Islam Apu, Tahjeeb Alam Siddiqui Sami, Mayor of Sadar Municipality Qayyum Shahriar Zahedi Hizal, Municipal Awami League President Jeevan. Kumar Biswas, General Secretary Nazrul Islam Biswas, District Chhatra League President Sajib Hossain, General Secretary Al-Imran, and a total of 468 people have been registered. Case No. 16 at Jhenaidah Sadar Police Station.

It may be noted that during the anti-discrimination student movement on August 4, party leaders and activists of Awami League vandalized and set fire to the district office of BNP. In this incident, the furniture and necessary documents in the office were burnt.

After the incident, district BNP president MA Majid's house was also vandalized and looted and set on fire.
