Firing on the villagers in the Padma river: humanitarianism in protest

Kushtia: Locals have organized a human chain in the Faizullahpur area of ​​Junadah union of Bheramara upazila of Kushtia in protest of the shooting of the villagers on the Padma river. Hundreds of women and children participated in the human chain organized by Rayata and Faizullahpur villagers on Sunday (July 7) at 5 pm.

Participants in the human chain said that the village of Faizullahpur is in fear of the erosion of the Padma river. Due to the movement of sand -filled cargo trawlers through the river bank, the erosion is increasing. They complained that the firing was being fired when it was stopped. They demanded exemplary punishment under the law of Balu businessman Shamim Sarkar and Belal forces involved in the shootings.

Locals said that over the past few days, there has been widespread erosion on the river, including agricultural land, due to the sailing of sand carrying the Padma river. The settlements were damaged. The victims filed a written complaint to the local administration. In the wake of this, on Saturday morning, some armed rays, led by Shamim Sarkar and Belal forces, fired and fled at Bali Ghat. At that time a local man named Amirul Islam was shot. Since the incident, the situation has been in the area.

Officer -in -Charge of Bheramara Police Station Abdur Rab Talukder said no complaint has been received at the police station so far. However, the police are working on the matter and the campaign is underway to catch the criminals.
