To ensure the propagation and natural breeding of carp fish, fishing ban has been started in Kaptai Lake. The ban, which started from midnight on Thursday (April 25), will continue until July 24.
It is known that local ice mills will remain closed during the ban. At this time, the fishermen who depend on fish collection in the lake will be given food assistance through special VGF cards.
Rangamati Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mosharf Hossain Khan said, a three-month ban on fishing in Kaptai lake has started. At this time, naval police will be deployed at important places in the lake besides conducting mobile courts to stop illegal fishing, transportation and marketing of fish.
