Formation of new Board of Directors of Islami Bank

New Board of Directors of Islami Bank Bangladesh Plc has been constituted. Bangladesh Bank reported this information on Thursday (22 August).

Earlier on Wednesday, the controversial board of directors of the bank was dissolved. On Wednesday (August 21), the board of directors of the bank will be dissolved, said the governor of Bangladesh Bank. Ahsan H. Mansoor said that the central bank will form a new board of directors for Islami Bank.

Note that Islami Bank was taken over by S Alam Group in 2017. After taking ownership of the bank, S Alam Group has taken out Tk 75 thousand crore anonymously.

S Alam owns 82 percent of the bank's shares. In the meantime, BSEC has banned the transfer of S Alam's shares.
