The court has banned the emigration of 10 people including former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, his wife Lutful Tahmina Khan and Safia Tasnim Khan.
On Sunday (September 1), Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Mohammad Assamach Jaglul Hossain's court gave this order in view of ACC's application.
Others are – Home Ministry Joint Secretary Dhananjay Kumar Das, former DIG Molya Nazrul Islam, Home Ministry Acting Additional Secretary Md. Haran Or Rashid Biswas, Public Relations Officer Sharif Mahmud Apu, Administrative Officer Molla Ibrahim Hossain, Home Minister APS Monir Hossain and Shafi Moddashir Khan.
Deputy Director of the ACC applied for ban on their emigration. Jahangir Alam. ACC Public Prosecutor Mir Ahmed Ali Salam conducted the hearing. After the hearing, the court gave this order.
According to the application, the investigation of the allegation against the former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan and others for taking bribes of crores of rupees through syndicates in various departments under the Ministry of Home Affairs for transfer, promotion, recruitment of manpower and purchases is ongoing.
According to reliable sources, the persons concerned may leave the country and flee abroad. Their foreign travel should be canceled for the sake of fair investigation of the complaint. Due to this, the court banned them from leaving the country.
