Former Justice Manik in ICU

Former Justice AHM Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik, the country's most talked about critic, has been kept in the intensive care unit (ICU) of Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital after undergoing surgery.

He was admitted to the hospital's intensive care unit after undergoing surgery at around 8pm on Saturday (August 24). Earlier in the evening Sylhet MAG was sent to Osmani Medical College Hospital by the jail authorities. He was later taken to the operation theatre. A 45-minute long surgery was performed there.

The director of the hospital, Mahbubur Rahman Bhuiyan, said that the surgery of former justice Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik was successfully completed. He is healthy. He has been kept under observation in the ICU of the hospital.

Before this, DIG (Prison) of Sylhet. Chagir Mia said that the condition of former judge Manik is critical. His body was bleeding profusely due to the beating. A testicle ruptured. The treatment is going on under tight security.

Incidentally, BGB arrested former Justice Manik while he was going to India through Kanaighat (Dana) border in Sylhet on Friday (August 23) night. He was handed over to the Kanighat police station early on Saturday morning. He was taken to court yesterday.
