Former minister Golam Dastgir Gazi arrested

Former textile and jute minister and Gazi Group chairman Golam Dastgir Gazi has been arrested. Law enforcement forces arrested him from his home in Shantinagar of the capital on Saturday (August 24) night.

In the Rupganj police station of Narayanganj, a murder case was filed in the name of 105 people including Sheikh Hasina along with Golam Dastgir Gazi. The case was recently filed in connection with the murder of Roman Mia (17), a class 10 student of Nav Kishloy High School, who was shot by terrorists during the student uprising. Golam Dastgir's son Golam Mortuza Pappa is also named in this case.

Paltan Police Station OC Mollah. Khalid Hossain told the media that he was hiding in a relative's house to avoid arrest. A team of DB police arrested him from there.
