Former Trump Aide Appears to Predict Harris Will Win After TV Interview

Donald Trump’s former aide Anthony Scaramucci has made his support for Vice President Kamala Harris after her interview on CNN clear, and appeared to predict she will win the election.

The former White House communications director posted what appear to be his thoughts about Harris’ interview on X, formerly known as Twitter, writing shortly after the interview aired, “She did well. She is going to win.”

Around the same time, Scaramucci also shared a number of pro-Harris posts by other users on X, including Republicans Against Trump and Kamala’s Wins.

Directly after his post, he shared one by MSNBC host Luke Russert that said, “Kamala Harris gave lucid and coherent answers on a variety of topics over 50 minutes. That alone sets the bar for the 2024 election.”

Scaramucci, a Republican, very briefly served as part of Trump’s staff for just 10 days after Sean Spicer resigned in 2017.

After being fired by Trump, he supported his re-election campaign until August 2019, and since then has disavowed his support for Trump. Scaramucci founded the Right Side PAC alongside other Republicans in June 2020 in an effort to encourage voters in swing states to support other candidates.

Scaramucci’s anti-Trump campaigns have only continued since 2020, and he posted Thursday, “Trump is about arrogance and cruelty.”

He also criticized Trump’s behavior at Arlington cemetery in another X post and voiced his condemnation of Trump’s alleged altercation with a staff member at the cemetery during an interview on CNN.

Scaramucci worked in investment banking prior to his career in politics, and his work as the White House communications director is one of the shortest tenures in history tied with a member of former president Ronald Reagan’s staff, according to NBC.

In campaigning against Trump, Scaramucci has received significant backlash from other Republicans and Trump supporters and has defended his decisions to vote for President Joe Biden and now Harris on X.

Scaramucci has also noted his issues with vice presidential candidate JD Vance and said that he believes “JD Vance is in trouble with Donald Trump,” on the podcast The Rest is Politics: US, even going so far as to say that Trump should replace his VP pick.

In his campaign to encourage voters to not re-elect Trump, Scaramucci also donated $30,000 to Biden’s now-defunct presidential campaign in June according to The New York Post.

Outside of his career in politics and efforts to prevent another Trump presidency, Scaramucci has written four books, founded the global investment firm SkyBridge, served as a contributor on various news networks, and is currently hosting the podcast The Rest is Politics with Katty Kay until the election.

Newsweek reached out to Scaramucci and Harris’ campaign for comment via email.
