Garbage is piled up on the side of Charfashan-Bhola regional highway. Due to this, students, pedestrians and passengers of various vehicles are facing problems while traveling on the road. Many people are moving around holding their noses because of the stench.

According to local sources, due to long-term dumping of Charfasan municipal waste in this way, mosquito byproducts are increasing in the area. Many have found it difficult to live in the area due to the stench. Apart from this, the environment is being polluted due to non-biodegradable plastic and polythene thrown away. It is a public demand of the civil society that the municipal administrator will take effective action in this regard.

There are 20 cleaners in the municipality. The municipality does not have any specific dumping for cleaning the city's garbage. As a result, garbage piles up on the side of the road every morning and afternoon pickup. People are responsible for the smell of smoke when burning garbage piles in the morning.

Municipal garbage is not dumped at designated places and the civil society is foul with stench. Many people cannot bear the strong stench of garbage. A beautiful eco-friendly bus terminal on the west side of the road. Municipal authorities have no role in removing such strong smell of dirt and abandoned waste.

Going to the surface, it can be seen that dogs and crows are dragging the garbage in the middle of the road and causing bad smell. Passengers arriving at Drishtinandan bus stand hold their noses to the smell. Students are coming and going to school by holding their noses to cross the road. Garbage accumulated over a long period of time has turned into a high pile on the side of the road.

Charfashan Municipality does not have any designated garbage disposal site. Former mayor. Morshed talked about acquiring land to build a garbage dumping station but did not see the light of day.

Charfashion health officer Dr. Shobhan Kumar Basak said, many complex diseases can be caused by the stench of dirt.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Naureen Haque said that people are suffering due to the dumping of garbage on the side of the highway. There is no opportunity to dump municipal waste on the road side. Effective measures will be taken soon with the new municipal administrator.
