Golden Retriever Has Saddest Face After Getting Locked Out for ’10 Seconds’

Viewers are cracking up at a dog’s animated response to a joke her owner pulled. After seeing her reaction, the owner likely won’t do it again.

Miley the golden retriever was enjoying her time outside of the apartment, and like most dogs, she could’ve stayed out forever. She listened to her owner come back inside the building, but when the apartment door came into view, she stood her ground. She wasn’t ready to go home.

Growing frustrated with Miley’s protest, the owner decided to go inside without her and shut the door. Sooner or later, Miley would get the hint that her owner was not putting up with the protest. Miley heard the message loud and clear, and she was not too happy.

In the August 28 TikTok video posted to the account @mileymaethegolden, the owner opened the front door again to let Miley inside after “10 seconds.” Appalled at what her owner had done, Miley stood frozen. Her eyes widened as every emotion ran through her: confusion, shock and sadness. She stared at her owner with an expression that screamed, “How dare you?”

The caption reads: “Safe to say she does not like it when you pull a her on her.”

It didn’t matter if her owner left her out for just one second or 10. The audacity of the action took Miley by surprise. And her reaction was enough to guilt her owner into never pulling such a trick again.

Miley’s reaction quickly became a social media sensation, with the clip getting over 1.6 million views and 383,700 likes as of Friday.

“She’s like, ‘The nerve with you mom,'” commented one viewer, while a second user wrote: “She looks so hurt…the eye blink.”

Another added: “She thought she was homeless for 10 seconds.”

Getting Dogs to Come Inside

Dogs can sometimes be stubborn, especially when you’re asking them to come inside. They get mental and physical stimulation outside when they’re going on walks, sniffing or playing. So when it is time to go back home, they often protest, and getting them to listen can be frustrating or challenging.

The website Vet Explains Pets shared a few tips that might overcome this problem. Use positive associations such as offering treats or praise, which can make your dog more likely to respond to your commands. Owners could try establishing a routine or practice recall training. Walking them on a leash will also make it easier to guide them where you want to go.
