The government is on its way to a major change in pension-related facilities for government employees. Some new recommendations and policies have been adopted to eliminate the long -standing complexity of the pension system of retired officers.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the Cabinet Division on Thursday (September 7th). The meeting was chaired by the Cabinet Secretary. Sheikh Abdur Rashid. Retired Additional Secretary AKM Saiful Islam Chowdhury was present.
Recommended changes:
1. It is recommended to reduce the pension reinstatement from 5 years to 5 years.
2. After the death of the pensioner, the second wife or husband is also proposed to provide family pensions as per the rules.
3. Medical assistance will be provided from the Government Employees Welfare Board for retired officers suffering from complex diseases.
3. There will be talks with the ministries to ease the pension process of the officers working in the expat.
3. Centennial pensioners have been instructed to increase the festive allowance and add full allowance facilities after the pension restoration.
3. Those who have taken one -time pension during retirement are being taken into consideration.
In addition, the concerned offices have been instructed to include the Public Administration Secretary in the Social Security Program and raise public awareness on public pension schemes.
A senior cabinet department official said the government was working consistently to eliminate pension-related complications. An official said the finance department had already started activities in implementing the new decisions, on condition of anonymity.
The main aim of this initiative is to ensure financial protection and social status of retired government employees and to make the pension system timely.
