Great May Day is celebrated in Bhurungamari with due dignity


Great May Day and International Labor Day were celebrated with due dignity in Bhurungamari of Kurigram. On Monday (May 1st) morning, the national and party flags were hoisted at the respective offices of the trade unions. Various labor organizations organize colorful rallies, processions, labor gatherings and discussion meetings on the occasion of the day.

In the discussion meeting, the speakers demanded immediate payment of monthly stipend, free medical treatment, provision of rationing at a fair price, provision of housing and allowances for elderly workers along with decent wages. The speakers said that although the role of workers is important in the development of the country, they are deprived of the government facilities to improve the quality of life of the workers. Demanded the government to take immediate action to implement the fair demands of the workers immediately.

Jatiya Sramik League Bhurungamari Upazila Branch, Bus-Minibus Sramik Union, Uttar Dharla Motor Sramik Union, Truck, Tank-Lorry, Covert Van Sramik Union, Autobike Sramik Kalyan Society, Load-Unload Sramik Union, Hotel-Restaurant Sramik Union, Construction Sramik Union including Various labor organizations take up various day-long programs on the occasion of the day.

Upazila Parishad Chairman Nurunnabi Chowdhury Khokon, Upazila Awami League President Alhaj Shahjahan Siraj, Kurigram Zilla Parishad member Zahir Uddin political party leaders and labor leaders were present in the separate discussion meeting.
