Seven people were killed and one injured in a gun attack in Pakistan's Balochistan province. The incident took place at Surbandar in Gwadar district of Balochistan on Wednesday (May 8) night. All the casualties were reported to be employees of a local salon.
While talking to the national media Dawn, Gwadar Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Zohaib Mohsin said that the incident took place at around 3 pm. The deceased worked in a salon at Surbandar, about 25 km from Gwadar.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Gwadar Hamudur Rahman said that the bodies were delivered to the families in four ambulances. And the injured person was shifted to Karachi after first aid.
Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has expressed deep grief over the incident. Strongly condemning the incident, he termed it as 'open terrorism'. He also promised to provide all possible support to the families of the victims and to give appropriate punishment to the attackers.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his condolences to the families of the victims besides condemning the attack. In a statement, he said, this attack is a cowardly act of the country's enemies. We are determined to root out terrorism.
