Mahmudul Hasan Joy suffered a groin injury while playing for Bangladesh 'A' team. He will not be available for the first Test of the series against Pakistan. However, the team management is hoping for him in the second test.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) said this in a statement on Sunday (August 18) evening. Quoting physio Bayezid Islam, BCB said it will take 10 to 14 days for him to recover.
'Joy has started his rehabilitation process. It usually takes 10 to 14 days to recover from this type of injury. He will not be available in the first Test. But we hope he will be fit for the second Test starting on August 30,” said Bayezid Islam.
Bangladesh's first Test will start from August 21. The second test will be from August 30. Both matches will be played in Rawalpindi.
Bangladesh suffered a shock injury after a great batting win against Pakistan Shaheens. He scored 65 runs in the first innings. Could not bat in the second innings.
Earlier, Jay also played well for the HP team in Australia. He played innings of 69 and 65 runs in the two innings of the four-day match.
Apart from this, he took 5 wickets for 21 runs with the ball and brought a great victory. The two-match Test series against Pakistan will begin on August 21, and the second and final Test on August 30.
