Human chain for the second day demanding the resignation of the headmaster in Salanga

The students of Salanga Islamia High School in Sirajganj have been forming human chains for the second day against various irregularities and misdeeds against the head teacher Shahidul Islam and assistant teacher Rahima Khatun.

The human chain was held at Solanga Islamia High School premises on Thursday (August 29) at noon.

Students Rakibul Islam Rakib, Sifat, Mehedi Hasan, Shaon Ahmed, Redwan, Nafiz, Labib and others spoke at the human chain.

Speakers in human chain said, we are doing human chain today like the second day. I have done a protest march before. I have complained to various departments. Even when it is not working, I am doing human chain again today. Our program will continue until our demands are met.

They pointed out the misdeeds of the head teacher and assistant teacher and said that the assistant teacher of the school, Rahima Khatun, gossiped while sitting in the room of the head teacher Shahidul Imlam. Apart from the head teacher classes, he devotes time to his own business.

Students of the school are asked to take coaching, classes in another educational institution, Zafar Ali Academy. The school fees are especially low for those who take classes or coaching in those institutes. Question papers are given before the exam.

The students even complained that he had a deep relationship with the assistant teacher. He warned of a bigger movement if they are not resigned soon.

Earlier, from last Sunday (August 25) morning, students protested to demand the resignation of head teacher Shahidul Islam and assistant teacher Rahima Khatun.

In the afternoon, teachers and students made a written complaint to the President of the institution (Managing Committee) and Raiganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer highlighting 14 irregularities.

Last Tuesday (August 27) afternoon, students formed a human chain to demand the resignation of head teacher Shahidul Islam and assistant teacher Rahima Khatun.

Raiganj Upazila Executive Officer Nahid Hasan Khan said that he received a written complaint demanding the resignation of the principal of Salanga Islamia High School. Action will be taken after investigation within five working days.
