RAB-11 has arrested the murderer husband who was sentenced to life in the case of killing his wife after 22 years in Begamganj Upazila of Noakhali.
Arrested Samchuddin (55) is the son of deceased Zainal Abedin of Maijchhara village of Sadar Upazila of the district.
He was arrested from Choumuhani Municipal Bus Terminal in Begumganj on Thursday night (May 16).
According to RAB-11 CPC-3 sources, accused Samchuddin along with Zainal Abedin, Manwara Begum and Bilkis Begum conspired to kill Ayesha Khatun by physical torture and strangulation. Later in this incident, ASI of Sudharam Model Police Station. Mokhleshur Rahman filed a statement at the police station on 13 June 2002 as a plaintiff. On July 30, 2009, at the end of the judicial proceedings in this murder case, the court awarded life imprisonment to the accused murderer Swami Samchuddin. Since the murder, the accused has been absconding to avoid arrest.
RAB-11, CPC-3, Noakhali Company Commander (Acting) Assistant Superintendent of Police Md. Golam Morshed said, the accused has been handed over to Sudharam Model Police Station to take legal action against him.
