Illegal entry into India, 5 Bangladeshis detained


5 Bangladeshi citizens have been arrested in India. The arrested had illegally entered the country's northeastern state of Tripura. They were arrested yesterday during a joint operation by Tripura Police and Border Security Force. This information has been reported in the report of Indian media NDTV.

Paritosh Das, officer-in-charge of West Agartala Police Station, said, “Five Bangladeshi illegal intruders have been arrested in a raid based on secret information.”

Paritosh Das also said that after receiving intelligence information about the illegal entry of some Bangladeshi nationals into the border town of Lankamura on the outskirts of Agartala, a joint operation was launched by police and border guard forces. They were arrested at this time. All the five arrested have admitted to be citizens of Bangladesh.

Paritosh Das said that the five arrested Bangladeshis are residents of Chapai Nawabganj district of Rajshahi district. He said that the arrested persons will be produced in the Agartala court and remand for questioning will be sought.
