Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (Jasad) president Hasanul Haq Inu has been remanded for seven days by the court in the case of the murder of businessman Abdul Wadud at the capital's Newmarket police station.

On the other hand, workers party president Rashed Khan Menon was granted a six-day remand in the capital's Adabar police station murder case of Rubel, a garment worker.

Judges granted their remand to a separate Metropolitan Magistrate's Court on Tuesday (August 27) afternoon.

Earlier, the police took Jasad president Inu to court and applied for a 10-day remand. After the hearing, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ali Haider granted his 7-day remand.

A team of DB arrested Inu from a house in Uttara on Monday (August 26) afternoon. During the anti-discrimination movement, Shahajan Ali, an employee of Paposh shop in New Market area, was arrested on July 16 in the case of murder. Shajahan's mother Ayesha Begum filed this case at Newmarket police station as the plaintiff.

Jasad is one of the partner parties of the 14-party alliance led by Awami League. Inu served as Information Minister in the Awami League government during the period 2014-2019. In the last 12th parliamentary elections, he contested from a seat in Kushtia as a candidate of the 14-party alliance and lost to the rebel candidate of the Awami League.

Meanwhile, the court granted a 6-day remand to Workers' Party president Rashed Khan Menon in the murder case of garment worker Rubel filed at Adabar police station in the capital. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Saifur Rahman granted the remand after the hearing on Tuesday (August 27).

On this day, the police produced him in court after five days of remand. After that, the investigating officer of the case and inspector of Adabar police station, Mintu Chandra Vanik, showed him arrested and applied for 10 days remand.

Rashed Khan Menon was arrested from Gulshan area of ​​the capital on August 22. He was shown arrested in a murder case at Newmarket police station.
