ISPR requests media to disseminate objective news

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) termed the report titled 'Army chief angry with young army officers in meeting that day' as motivated and misleading.

This information was given by ISPR in a protest letter on Tuesday (August 20). ISPR also requested the media to disseminate objective news.

According to the ISPR, a report titled “Army chief was angry with young army officers in the meeting that day” was published by various media on Monday. The news published based on a report published only in the Indian newspaper 'The Week' is motivated and misleading. It is advisable to contact ISPR for accurate presentation of any information regarding internal affairs of the Army.

The ISPR also said that, in fact, the meeting was a regular internal meeting of the Bangladesh Army, which was held in a very cordial and constructive atmosphere and concluded smoothly.

An attempt has been made to undermine the glorious image of the Bangladesh Army in the eyes of the people through the dissemination of such news related to the patriotic and professional army. Bangladesh Army always expects responsible and objective reporting from the media.

Every member of the Army performs their duties with a strong loyalty and fidelity to the chain of command, which they have demonstrated and continue to reflect. In the future, the Bangladesh Army expects the media to reflect the statements of all concerned parties in order to disseminate objective news.

ISPR is specifically requested not to create confusion in the public mind and unintentionally help in the spread of rumours, by reporting news solely on the basis of misinformation spread by any foreign media.

The Bangladesh Army is determined to provide all-out cooperation to the news media in disseminating objective and constructive news.
