Israel's Minister of War is preparing to resign

Benny Gantz, a member of Israel's war cabinet, is preparing to resign amid controversy over the conduct of military operations in Gaza. Gantz's office reported this information on Saturday.

The press conference Gantz's office said Gantz had set a deadline to approve a post-war plan for Gaza. But Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did not approve it by that deadline. So Gantz is preparing to resign.

Gantz, a moderate former military chief, was one of Netanyahu's main rivals before joining the war cabinet.

Any such move by Gantz is not expected to affect the stability of the Netanyahu government, The Guardian reported. Because right now Netanyahu's far-right and ultra-Orthodox Jewish groups are supporting Israel's attack on Gaza. They are also members of Netanyahu's coalition government.
