Jahangir searched the house of Kabir Nanak

Awami League presidium member and former textile and jute minister Jahangir Kabir Nanak's residence was searched by students and members of the law enforcement agencies.

The students started the campaign at Nanak's Mohammadpur residence on Wednesday (21 August) night. Later, law enforcement officials took control of the house.

Eyewitnesses said that students were also present along with army personnel. However, the soldiers left the scene after one hour.

Suspecting Nanak's presence at night, the students started monitoring the house. However, to prevent any looting, a team of army arrived at the spot and kept the environment under control.

Students said that Nanak may have weapons in this house and he may be hiding in the house, they searched on suspicion. However, no weapon was found inside the house. Students get many sacks of rice, sacks of blankets at home. At Nanak's residence, the students saw pictures of leaders and activists of various political parties.

Anwar Hossain, security guard of the building, said that Nanak lived in a house in Dhanmondi. Sometimes used to come to this apartment in Mohammadpur. However, he did not come after August 5.

He also said that the flat was used as the election camp office of Mohammadpur Awami League during the last election.
