Jhatika procession to stop battery-powered rickshaws in the capital again

In the capital, pedal-powered rickshaw drivers blocked the Kakrail road with 7 demands, including the ban on battery-powered rickshaws. On Saturday (August 31) around 12 noon, such a picture was seen at Kakrail intersection. The rickshaw drivers moved away before Ramna police reached the spot after receiving the news.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ramna Police Station Ghulam Farooq told the media that there was a brief stand on 7 demands, including stopping the movement of battery/motorized rickshaws on the capital's roads. The pedal-driven rickshaw pullers marched away on the Kakrail road before sending the force. As a result, there was no chaos or disruption in traffic on the road.

Earlier, the pedal rickshaw drivers stood at Shahbag intersection under the banner of Greater Dhaka City Corporation Rickshaw Owners Union at around 10 o'clock in the morning on August 26, with 7 demands, including stopping the movement of battery/motorized rickshaws on the capital road.
