Police have arrested a Jubo League leader in Mymensingh in a case filed under the Digital Security Act against Ashrafur Rahman and journalists for purposefully spreading false information. The arrested person has been identified as Salim Sajjad, who is involved in Mymensingh Metropolitan Jubo League politics. On January 28, a team of Ramna Thana police raided Thana Ghat area of ​​Mymensingh and arrested him.

According to the source of the case, the editor of daily daily paper and the head of journalist torture prevention cell of Bangladesh Md. Khairul Alam Rafiq filed this case in Dhaka's Ramna police station as the plaintiff. It was alleged in the statement that a cyber criminal gang had been using various fake IDs on social media for a long time to spread false and misleading information against senior law enforcement officers and journalists. Owners of 9 Facebook IDs involved in this cycle have been made accused in the case.

Earlier a General Diary (GD) was lodged in the police station regarding the same. Later, the police registered the complaint as a regular case after finding the initial truth of the complaint. According to the police, there are three more cases against the arrested Salim Sajjad, including drugs. It has been informed that the operation to arrest the remaining eight accused in this case is continuing. According to the relevant authorities, strict legal measures will be taken subject to investigation to prevent defamation of individuals and organizations on social media.
