Jubo League leader was killed in Pabna

Awami League activists have been accused of killing a Jubo League leader named Amirul Islam Master (42) in Santhia upazila of Pabna.

The incident took place at Chakpata Uttarpara of Gaurigram Union of the upazila on Monday (March 7) at around 8pm. Santhia Police Station OC Saidur Rahman confirmed the information.

The deceased was identified as Amirul Islam, son of Lohai Pramanik of Khetupara village of Khetupara union of the upazila. He was an office assistant at Khetupara High School. He was reported to be the organizing secretary of the proposed committee of the Upazila Jubo League.

The family, eyewitnesses and police sources said that Amirul, who was killed with Awami League activist Khalek, Emu and Mithu, was killed in the Khetupara area. The accused was beaten by Amirul's brother Ashraf at around 9pm tonight. When Amirul got the news, the accused picked him up in the CNG -powered autorickshaw and wounded him away. Locals later rescued him and took him to Santhia Upazila Health Complex. The doctor on duty declared Amirul dead.

Santhia Police Station Officer -in -Charge Saidur Rahman said, “We are on the spot. Trying to detail the incident. The details can be explained later. ”
