The teachers of Comilla University (KUBI) are ready to take classes in person if the students want. This has been confirmed by talking to the deans of six faculties of the university on Sunday (August 18).
The dean said that the dean of each faculty had an informal discussion about teaching in person. Even each department is ready to provide teaching offline and online i.e. based on the demand of the students. The batch wise decision of the students will inform the course teacher in charge through the class representative. According to that decision, the class action will continue for a temporary period.
They also said that since the students are demanding, the teachers are also ready to take classes physically in view of this demand. If students want, they can attend classes in person from next day (Tuesday).
A dean, who did not wish to be named, said, “We have had informal discussions with the department heads.” If the attendance rate of the students is satisfactory, the teachers will take classes from tomorrow.
It is to be noted that in the 99th Syndicate meeting of the University on August 8, it was decided to start online classes from August 12 and online classes and exams will start on August 25.
