An elderly man named Nur Ayesha was killed in a two -party clash over tobacco theft in Lama upazila. The incident took place at the remote Barabil Para of Phaniakhali union of the upazila. Ayesha Begum is the wife of Abdul Hakim, a resident of Barabil Para.
Lama Police Station Officer -in -Charge (Investigation) Enamul Haque Bhuiyan confirmed the incident. He said that Ayesha Begum's son Mir Ahmed, son of Ayesha Begum, burned tobacco in the tobacco reactor of Barabil Para of Phaniakhali Union.
Because of this, some of Mir Ahmed's tobacco remains in the reactor. Rubel, son of Jabbar Ali, was mistakenly carried four kilograms of tobacco from Mir Ahmed at around 7:30 am on Monday, focusing on tobacco transactions with Tawhid Alam.
At one point the two sides clashed between Rubel and Mir Ahmed. Mir Ahmed's mother Noor Ayesha was seriously injured. Later, locals rescued Ayesha Begum and admitted to the nearby Chakria Upazila Health Complex, while Noor Ayesha died at around 7:30 pm while undergoing treatment.
He also said that the body of Nur Aisha, who was killed for autopsy, was sent to Cox's Bazar Sadar morgue. Efforts are underway to arrest those involved in the incident.
