Las Vegas will host Super Bowl LXIII in 2029 at Allegiant Stadium, marking its second time staging the NFL’s biggest event in five years.
“Super Bowl LVIII demonstrated the scale, energy, and hospitality the city brings to global events, and we look forward to working alongside the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, the Raiders, and the community to deliver an even greater experience this time around,” said NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.
The city’s 2024 Super Bowl debut set a high bar. The event drew more than 330,000 visitors and generated more than $1 billion in economic impact, according to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.
Super Bowl visitor spending alone reached approximately $877 million, with attendees averaging about $2,660 per trip, roughly double the typical Las Vegas visitor spend. The event filled nearly 289,000 hotel room nights and pushed Harry Reid International Airport to a single-day departure record of about 104,000 passengers.
“Las Vegas has gone all-in on sports. Before 2017, the city had no professional sports teams, and in 2028 it will have all five,” said Mike Ferreira, CEO of Meetings Made Easy.
A More Complex Demand Picture
Beneath these record-breaking numbers, however, Las Vegas is navigating a more complicated visitation landscape.
Visitor numbers shrank by roughly 7.5%, resulting in approximately 38.5 million Las Vegas visitors in 2025, down from 2024 by about 3.1 million.
Convention attendance, however, remained steady at roughly 6 million.
In 2024, not only did football fans converge on the city, but so did meetings and incentive groups. The city will be looking to repeat that in 2029, as planners look to leverage the Super Bowl’s notoriety.
“Las Vegas continues to set the standard for world-class entertainment and hospitality, making it uniquely equipped to host an event of this scale,” said Bill Hornbuckle, CEO of MGM Resorts. “Our resorts are ready to deliver an unforgettable experience that only Las Vegas and MGM Resorts can offer.”
More Than a Game
But the Super Bowl’s impact extends far beyond game day. The weeklong lineup of official NFL programming includes Opening Night, a large-scale media and fan event featuring players and coaches, the Super Bowl Experience fan festival, and the NFL Honors awards ceremony. There will also be concerts, branded parties, and even culinary showcases.
Las Vegas is expected to expand on its 2024 playbook with citywide activations and community-driven programming, including charitable initiatives, youth engagement events, and large-scale public celebrations.
Allegiant Stadium will also host the 2027 College Football Playoff National Championship, supported by a newly formed executive host committee spanning business, tourism, sports, and government leaders.
Organizers are planning an extensive schedule of lead-up events, including volunteer programs, youth initiatives, and community activations—continuing Las Vegas’ strategy of turning major sporting events into multi-day, citywide experiences.
Vegas in Constant Development
The city is known for constantly reinventing itself including its infrastructure. The Las Vegas Convention Center completed a $600 million renovation in January, timed with CES 2026. Upgrades include a redesigned Central Hall Grand Lobby and a climate-controlled interior concourse connecting the North Hall and the South Hall, improving flow for large-scale conventions.
Latest hotel news includes the opening of the Vanderpump Hotel in May, which is transforming the former Cromwell into a boutique, personality-driven hotel option.
Meanwhile, resorts are offering discounted leisure packages. MGM is rolling out an all‑inclusive bundle at Luxor and Excalibur that includes accommodations, the daily resort fee, dining, entertainment, and parking for a single upfront price. Conrad Las Vegas at Resorts World has created the “Conrad Complete” add-on, which includes premium dining, private club lounge access, priority pool privileges, and nightclub access.
