Former prime minister Sheikh Hasina's private sector adviser Salman F Rahman is in remand by the Dhaka Metropolitan Detective (DB) police. He was arrested on August 13 in the murder case of Hakar Shahjahan Ali filed at Newmarket police station. He is being remanded at the DB Police office on Minto Road in the capital.

During interrogation, DBK Salman F Rahman asked him to release him. According to him, if I am detained, 80 thousand people working in my various organizations will not get salary. I will not be able to pay the installments of the loans taken from different banks. It will harm the country. so let me go I will fix the country.

At that time, the DB official said, 'If you decide, do it here. Go to court and talk. But you will not be without. You should be remanded for at least one year in one case after another.'

DB wants to know from Salman F Rahman, before the last election, how Awami League controlled the situation and prevented the fall of the government?

In reply, Salman F. Rahman said, 'We are on the side of America, we were able to convince America through India. We also explained to them that there is no alternative to Sheikh Hasina to save Bangladesh. Then America was convinced by our and India's words. Otherwise we would have fallen immediately.'

Earlier, Salman F Rahman told DB that he had served 2 years in jail before. So if he is kept in jail, he will not have problem but the country will suffer.

DB officials told Salman F Rahman, 'The case is just beginning. We also do not know how many cases there will be. You just need to go to court and come to DB. At that time, Salman F. Rahman said, I served 2 years in jail during One-Eleven. So no problem. He said, keeping me in jail will harm the country. Because I have many workers in various organizations. They will not get paid. The money borrowed from the bank will not be repaid.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned and left the country on January 5 in the face of student uprising. Since then, Awami League leaders are constantly being arrested. Right now, those who are remanded in DB are former Deputy Speaker Shamsul Haque Tuku, former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's private industry and investment adviser Salman F Rahman, former Law Minister Anisul Haque, former State Minister for Information and Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak, Director General of National Telecommunication Monitoring Center (NTMC) Major General (Retd.) Ziaul Ahsan, Former MP Sadek Khan, Former Chief Whip of Jatiya Sangsad AS Sam Feroze, Rashed Khan Menon of Workers Party, Awami League Organizing Secretary Ahmad Hossain, Former Chairman of Chittagong Port Rear Admiral (Retd.) Mohammad Sohail, Former Sports Deputy Minister Arif Khan Joy, former Social Welfare Minister Dr. Dipu Moni, former senior secretary Shah Kamal, general secretary of Dhaka University Chhatra League Tanveer Hasan Saikat and others.
