Madrasa teacher dies due to electrocution in Pabna


Professor Abdus Shakur (53) of Pabna Islamia Fazil Madrasa died of electrocution while bathing in the pond while returning home from Madrasa. An accident occurred on Sunday (April 28) around noon when a person took a bath in a pond in Mahendrapur area of ​​Pabna Central Bus Terminal.

Deceased Shakur Pabna is the son of Islam Patwari of Mahendrapur village of Dogachi Union of Sadar Upazila. Islamia Fazil was a professor at the Madrasah and a popular Islamic speaker.

He is survived by his wife, three sons and a daughter. A shadow of mourning is falling across Pabna on his death. Various political organizations and social and cultural organizations have given condolences.

Principal of Pabna Islamia Fazil Madrasa Maulana Iqbal Hossain confirmed the matter.

He said, after returning home from the madrasa, he went down to bathe in a pond near the house at noon. He did not see that there were electricity lines. He was electrocuted and died on the spot. His death was an irreparable loss to the madrasa. He was an exemplary and efficient teacher. He was also a popular orator. Devoted himself to the service of Islam for life.'

According to family sources, Janaza prayers will be held at Pabna Darul Aman Trust campus after Maghrib prayers on Sunday. Burial will be done at Pabna Sadar Cemetery.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Pabna Sadar police station Roshan Ali said, the incident is very painful. An investigation will be conducted to see how the power cable was torn by the water in the pond.
