Major General Tarek Hossain is the new ambassador of Bangladesh in Kuwait


The government has decided to appoint Major General Syed Tarek Hussain as the new ambassador of Bangladesh in Kuwait.

This was stated in a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday.

According to the notification, before being appointed to the Ministry of External Affairs, he served as the Senior Directing Staff of the National Defense College.

During his military career he served as staff and command at various levels. Major General Tarek, a senior officer of the Bangladesh Army, was commissioned in 1989. His major assignments in his career include Commandant of Bangladesh Ordnance Factory, GOC of 19 Infantry Division, Commander of 44 and 72 Infantry Brigades. Major General Tarek also received distinguished honors for serving in UN peacekeeping missions in Angola and Ivory Coast.

Major General Tareq has the opportunity to graduate from one of the most prestigious military institutions around the world. Among them – Mirpur Defense Services Command and Staff College of Bangladesh. Defense Services Staff College in Wellington, India and the US Army War College in Pennsylvania.
