Meteorological department predicts storm with a speed of 60 km

The Meteorological Department has predicted a storm with a speed of 60 km in some areas of the country. Besides, warning signal number 1 has been shown in the river ports of those areas.

This information was given in the weather forecast for river ports from dawn to 6 pm on Friday (May 10).

According to the forecast, gusty or stormy winds may blow over Comilla, Noakhali, Chittagong and Cox's Bazar regions from the west and north-west at a speed of 45-60 km per hour with rain or thundershowers. The river ports in these areas have been asked to display warning signal number 1.

Meanwhile, the weather forecast said, the extension of low pressure is extending from West Bengal to North Bay of Bengal. At many places of Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barisal and Sylhet divisions and at some places of Rajshahi, Rangpur and Chittagong divisions, rain with gusty winds or thundershowers may occur temporarily. Along with that there may be scattered hail at some places.
