Murder case against 321 people including former relief state minister in Savar

A case of murder has been filed against 321 people including the former State Relief Minister in connection with the murder of a private university student named Sajjad Hossain (19) in Savar.

On Monday (August 19) evening, Savar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Atiqur Rahman confirmed the case. Earlier in the morning, the victim's father Alamgir filed the case as the plaintiff.

The deceased Sajjad Hossain is the son of Alamgir of Aukpara area of ​​Savar. He was a student of a private university in Sonargaon.

The defendants in the case are – former Minister of State for Disaster and Relief Dr. Enamur Rahman Enam, Savar Upazila Chairman Manjurul Alam Rajib, Municipal Mayor Abdul Gani, Savar Municipality Ward No. 4 Councilor Nur Alam Siddiqui Newton, Tentuljhora Union Chairman Fakhrul Alam Samar, Upazila Chhatra League President Atiqur Rahman Atiq, Ward No. 2 Commissioner Nazrul Islam Manik Molla, No. 3 Ward Commissioner Shanzida Akhtar Mukta, 5th Ward Commissioner Moshiur Rahman Khan Samrat, 1st Ward Commissioner Ramzan Ahmed, Dhaka District Jubo League Convener Mizanur Rahman GS Mizan, Dhaka District Awami League Joint General Secretary Masud Chowdhury, Ershadur Rahman Ershad, Abdul Halim, Sujan Mia, Atabur Names of 321 people including Shipon, Minhaj Uddin Mina, Ilyas Mia, Mohsin Babu, Ripon have been mentioned.

Besides, the names of 4 to 5 hundred unidentified people have been mentioned. They are all the leaders and workers of Awami League and its affiliates.

Sajjad's younger sister Nishad Tasnim said, on August 5, my brother Sajjad went to Savar bus stand around 7 am. When we went there, we tried to contact his mobile phone several times from our family. But he didn't pick up the phone. Then around 4 pm someone called my father's mobile and said that my brother is shot and he is in Enam Medical. Later our whole family went to the hospital from Aukpara. Then he died on August 6 while undergoing treatment in the hospital.

He further said, “My father has filed a case at Savar Model Police Station for the trial of my brother's murder.”

In this regard, Savar Model Police Station Inspector (OC Investigation) Abdur Rashid said that a person named Alamgir has filed a murder case. A case has been filed against 321 people.
