Murder case against 614 people including Sheikh Hasina in Munshiganj

A murder case has been filed against 614 including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, former bridge minister Obaidul Quader, three former parliamentarians at Munshiganj Sadar police station for the killing of Dipzal Sardar in the anti-discrimination student movement. Inspector (Investigation) Harunur Rashid of Munshiganj Sadar Police Station confirmed this information on Friday (August 30) morning.

Earlier on Thursday (August 29) evening, the victim's grandmother Shefali Begum filed the case at Munshiganj Sadar Police Station as the plaintiff. Names of 314 leaders and activists of Awami League and allied organizations have been mentioned as defendants. Apart from this, 300 unidentified people have been accused.

Among the notable defendants in the case are former bridge minister Obaidul Quader, Munshiganj district Awami League president Md. Mohiuddin, former Member of Parliament of Munshiganj-2 Constituency Sagufta Yasmin Emily, former Member of Parliament of Munshiganj-3 Constituency Advocate Mrinal Kanti Das, former Member of Parliament of Munshiganj-3 Constituency Mohammad Faisal Biplab, former Chairman of Sadar Upazila Anichouzzaman, General Secretary Lutfar Rahman etc.

According to the documents of the case, on August 4, there was a peaceful movement of students and people in the supermarket area to demand the resignation of Sheikh Hasina. At that time, the agitating Dipjal Sardar was shot with the firearm held by Sajjad Hossain Sagar, General Secretary of Munshiganj Municipal Chhatra League. He was killed by it.
