BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has sought a clear roadmap from the interim government demanding a national election program by December. He said it is not yet clear why the specific day of the elections is not being announced. He said this while addressing the anniversary of the National People's Party (NPP) in the Diploma Engineers Institution in Kakrail on Sunday (May 27th).
Tareq Rahman said the people of the country are not a vessel of government. The government must obey and listen to the people's fair demands. There is no opportunity for the government's pride or anger.
Tareq Rahman immediately expressed the expectation of the most free and neutral national election in the history of the country under the leadership of the interim government. Chief Advisor Dr. Referring to the political parties' meeting with Muhammad Yunus, Tareq Rahman said that after meeting with the head of the interim government, political parties have again demanded the date of national elections and clear days.
Tareq Rahman insisted, “The BNP demands that the national elections will be held within next December.” We have continued our full support for the interim government, including the BNP, for the necessary reforms of the public administration and law and order for the national elections.
Tareq Rahman said the moral and political legitimacy of the current interim government, which is founded on the blood of thousands of martyrs, may not be in crisis. However, this government is not accountable to the people. Since the government is not accountable, the specific plan of the government needs to be clear to the people for moral reasons. Keeping the people in the dark, the political parties are uncertain, in the end, no plan is effective and sustainable.
He criticized the government's activities, saying that the interim government has suddenly imposed a renovation of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) just before the budget side, which has created a stagnation of revenue, which is not good for the economy.
The acting chairman of the BNP said the current interim government is not the qualification of the government. Due to lack of stable democratic government in the country, domestic and foreign investment has come down on the one hand, there is an unrest among the people of different classes on an uncertain political-economic situation. Because of this, people are coming down the highway with different demands every day. Although unfortunately there is no one at the moment to hear their claims.
Tareq Rahman also said that the absconding autocratic dictatorship is waiting to rise with any excuse or opportunity for establishing a accountable government. However, it is possible to tighten the rehabilitation of power by establishing the rights of the people in Bangladesh -free Bangladesh. He believes that systematic disputes between the anti -fascism political parties are visible, but in the greater interest of the country and the people, it is possible to cope with the rise of fascism unitedly on August 7.
