Mysterious death of a mother who was accused of stealing her son

A Jubo League leader has been accused of torturing and killing his mother in Thakurgaon after accusing her son of stealing. In this incident, the police recovered the hanging body of Dayan Rishi (37), a housewife of Mashar tribal group.

On Wednesday (May 22) morning, the police found the body of the housewife hanging from a lychee garden in Ward No. 9 Parishad Para area of ​​Sadar Upazila. Dayan Rishi Parishad is the wife of Vishu Rishi. Hundreds of tribals of the area took a stand at Thakurgaon Sadar police station to demand justice. Neighbors and family members say that his death is mysterious.

While staying at Sadar police station in the afternoon, the neighbors and relatives of the dead woman said that Dayan Rishi's son Shishu Rajen and neighbor Sanjit stole Tk 3 lakh and gold ornaments from the house of a person named Amjad in the same area. Amjad and his accomplices took Rajen from his house on suspicion of theft on Tuesday morning. Then torture them. Later in the night his mother was also taken away by the people of Amjad. Later on Wednesday morning, locals informed the police after seeing Dayan Rishi hanging from a litchi tree near the house. The police recovered the hanging body from the spot.

They alleged that those who picked them up may have hanged the housewife from a tree after killing them. So we came to the police station to demand strict punishment of the killers. We want those who have committed this crime to be hanged.

Local ward councilor Dolan Kumar Majumder said, 4-5 persons including Amjad came to me on Tuesday afternoon. Vishu's son had entered Amjad's house and stolen money and gold ornaments; He was picked up on suspicion. Later I got to know about the news, they took their mother Dayan Rishi and beat them up. I talked to people who picked it up. Ask me to give it to the police station without beating. But instead of doing that they beat more. When the boy's father went there, they also beat him. Later in the evening, they were handed over to local boys to retrieve the money. The woman was not found after that. Later this morning I came to know that his hanging body was recovered.

The victim's son Rajen said, “Even though I was released around 1.30 am, local Jubo League leader Ranjith and his men called my mother and took her away. I come home. Even after a long time mother did not come home, we did not find her even after a lot of searching. Later in the morning, the mother's body was found hanging from a tree near the house.

The victim's husband Vishu Rishi complained that those who took my son and wife killed him and hanged him. I want them to be judged.

Thakurgaon Sadar Circle Additional Superintendent of Police Mithun Sarkar said that the matter is being investigated and the body has been recovered from the spot and sent to the morgue. After the autopsy report, the cause of death will be known and if the family of the deceased files a complaint, legal action will be taken based on the complaint.
