Mysterious death of housewife in Comilla, obstruction and clashes in burial

A housewife named Minuara Begum (45) died mysteriously in the house of her husband in Saidergaon area of ​​Bakshimul Union of Comilla's Burichong Upazila. In this incident, a clash took place between the people of the house of the deceased housewife's father and her husband's house while the body was left in the house. At least 7-8 people were injured. Even after 12 hours, the burial has not been completed, causing excitement in the area.

Burichong Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Lutfur Rahman said on Saturday morning that the body was recovered and handed over to the family of the deceased woman's husband after the autopsy. The deceased Minuara Begum is the wife of Hossain Mia of that area and the daughter of deceased Abdul Aziz of Kalikapur Dakshin Para area of ​​the same union. He has one son and one daughter.

According to police and local sources, Minuara Begum's body was found hanging from Hossain Mia's residence at around 9 am on Friday and informed to the police. Later, SI Rakibul Islam went to the spot, recovered the body, prepared a report and sent it to Comilla Medical College Hospital for post-mortem.

Meanwhile, before the body was recovered, when the people of the deceased's father's house came to see the body, the people of the husband's house stopped them. The talks between the two sides turned into fights and clashes. While bringing the situation under control, 7-8 people including local UP women member Najma Akhtar were injured.

After the incident, the victim's brother Abu Jaher Shimul filed a written complaint with the police station naming 11 people and naming 4-5 unknown people as defendants. He alleged that an attempt was being made to pass off his sister's murder as a suicide due to a family feud. He even claimed that the body was taken to the hospital quickly to cover up the incident. He demanded a fair investigation and trial.

On the other hand, Hossain Mia's husband and son Ripon Mia claimed that Hossain Mia went to work on the land after breakfast. Later, when he returned to the house and saw the doors and windows closed, he looked through the window and saw Minuara hanging with a veil wrapped around her neck. They claim that it is suicide and they don't know the reason behind it.

The husband's family also alleged that even after the post-mortem the body was brought home, the burial could not be completed due to opposition.

Till writing this report, the dead body of the woman has been kept in the freezing vehicle. As the matter was not agreed upon, it was alleged that the body could not be buried due to the obstruction of the opponent. Najma Akhter, a local UP member, said, “I was injured when I tried to stop when both sides clashed.”

Lutfur Rahman, OC of Burichong police station, said that after receiving the news of suicide, the body was recovered and handed over to the husband's family after the autopsy. The actual cause of death will be known after receiving the report. Investigation is going on based on the complaint and necessary legal action will be taken.
