Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Tapas said that arrangements have been made for 35,000 worshipers to participate in the main congregation of Eid-ul-Fitr prayers at the National Eidgah.
The DSCC Mayor informed the journalists after visiting the National Eidgah at noon on Tuesday (April 9). The main Eid congregation will be held at the National Eidgah at 8:30 am.
He said, arrangements for women's prayers have also been made in this congregation.
Mayor Tapas said, we have completed almost all preparations for Eid-ul-Fitr prayers. And within that one day we will complete the rest of the work. Like the last two years, we would like to invite the people of Dhaka to participate in this Jamaat with their families and share the joy of Eid.
He said, arrangements have been made for congregation of 35,000 worshipers here. All kinds of facilities have been ensured for this. We are hoping for no rain. We have received such information from the Meteorological Department. We have made arrangements so that Jamaat can be held here properly even if there is a storm or heavy rain. We have covered the whole area with triple. May no water fall and no suffering.
He further said, here we will have control room and all healthcare facilities. So that no worshiper has any problem. 4 entrances have been made to enter the congregation. There is a separate entrance for women. Besides, we have kept three more gates for exiting after the congregation. So that everyone can get out quickly.
The mayor said that worshipers can bring prayer and umbrellas to the congregation. However, I request everyone not to enter the Jamaat with any kind of fire burning equipment including wall hangings.
