National Sports Council of Farooq Ahmed

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Farooq Ahmed canceled the nomination of the National Sports Council. Former national captain of the national team lost the post of BCB president.

The National Sports Council confirmed the matter through a press release on Thursday (May 27) at 9 pm.

According to the notification, the Constitution of the Bangladesh Cricket Board: 1.2 (b) 1) According to the National Sports Council on 1/3/2222, 6.1.1.1.125-5, the nominee of the Bangladesh Cricket Board is the first to propose a number of nominees. In reviewing the report of the Satyan Samiti Committee on BPL, the nomination of the National Sports Council was canceled in favor of Mr. Farooq Ahmed in need of keeping the activities of the Bangladesh Cricket Board normal. ”

The letter, signed by Md. Aminul Islam, NDC Secretary (Joint Secretary), has been sent to the Chief Executive of the Bangladesh Cricket Board, Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Key, the Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Nazmul Hasan Papan resigned from the BCB president after the change of power in the country on August 7 last year. Besides, some other directors who were in connection with the ruling party did not return to the board.

After the political change, the National Sports Council appointed Farooq Ahmed and Nazmul Abedin Fahim for the BCB first and later as a councilor and later director. Later, Farooq was appointed president of the BCB by the directors' vote. After 6 months, the NSC canceled his nomination.

According to the BCB's constitution, the nominees of the NSC got two places directly to the board of directors as well as the board of directors. Farooq Ahmed was no longer in BCB because the NSC canceled the nomination.

For the past few days, news of the change in the hot seat of the BCB has been heard. Farooq was critically criticized for various reasons. Farooq met at the residence of Youth and Sports Advisor Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan last night. In the discussion of the two, the next election of the BCB came up, but sports adviser Farooq has given a message to the BCB's top post (government).

Meanwhile, the BCB's directors expressed their confidence on the president yesterday (May 27). They gave the letter to the National Sports Council. They are- Nazmul Abedin Fahim, Md. Saiful Alam Swapan Chowdhury, Mahbub Anam, Manjurul Alam, Fahim Sinha, Iftekhar Rahman Mithu, Kazi Inam Ahmed and Salauddin Chowdhury. Only Akram Khan did not sign the letter.

In addition, the BPL investigation report has raised all the serious allegations against the president. Proper rules or proper processes have not been followed in various activities including franchise selection and management, event management, tender for the creation of e-ticking app in the BPL.

Investigations on Event Management said that BCB President enlisted companies did not give the opportunity to violate the rules, but did not have enough capacity to do a single decision to a unregistered company. In the case of decision -making, the board president has made a single decision in his executive power without importing the opinion of the members of the concerned council members and the members of the board of directors.
