Netanyahu agrees to cease-fire talks international

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has agreed to renegotiate the ceasefire in Gaza. The talks will be held in Qatar's capital Doha and Egypt's capital Cairo. Netanyahu's office reported this information on Friday (March 29).

He gave his consent a day after the International Court of Justice ordered the delivery of urgent humanitarian aid to the people of the Palestinian territories.

Israel has not stopped its attacks on Gaza even after the UN Security Council passed a resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire this week. The Israeli army is wreaking havoc on the hospitals there.

Earlier, several rounds of talks on a ceasefire in Gaza had collapsed, the Herald reported. However, this agreement this time may halt military operations.

Netanyahu said he spoke with Israel's chief negotiators. He authorized Israeli representatives to join talks with Qatar and Egypt.

It should be noted that on October 7 last year, the Palestinian independence organization Hamas attacked Israel. The Israeli authorities claim that in this attack, about 1,200 people were killed and more than two hundred Israelis were taken hostage by Hamas fighters in Gaza. In response, the Israeli army launched airstrikes and ground operations in Gaza on the same day. Even after five months, the attack continues.

According to the United Nations, 85 percent of the territory's residents have been internally displaced amid acute shortages of food, clean water and medicine since the Israeli occupation of Gaza. Also, 60 percent of the region's infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed.

The United Nations also says that the Palestinians are living in a humanitarian crisis due to the long-term conflict. Also, due to lack of food, water, medicine and essential humanitarian assistance, more than 2.3 lakh residents of the valley are suffering from extreme hunger and severe malnutrition.
