New guidelines for withdrawing cash from banks

Bangladesh Bank has issued new guidelines for withdrawing cash from bank accounts. From now on anyone can withdraw any amount from their account.

On Saturday (September 7), the central bank issued a notification in this regard.

According to the notification, there will be no obligation to withdraw money from the bank account from Sunday (September 8). Anyone can withdraw any amount from their account.

On September 1, Bangladesh Bank had set a limit of up to 5 lakhs in the instructions regarding the last money withdrawal. However, even though there was a limit on cash withdrawal at that time, customers could transfer any amount of money and do digital transactions.

Incidentally, after the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government on August 5, politicians, businessmen and officials of various classes started withdrawing more and more money from banks. That is why the BRPD department of Bangladesh Bank gives this regulatory directive.
