Rafiqul Islam Newton has done terrible things like rape and physical abuse of female athletes, immoral activities with minor athletes, abortion when pregnant.
General Secretary of Bangladesh Jujutsu Association is Newton. His partner in immorality was another female athlete.
According to RAB, Newton used to enter the girls' changing room before practice, rape them, record videos and take nude pictures. Another woman of the association assisted Newton in these activities.
On May 18, a female player of the Jujutsu Association filed a case (No-30) against Rafiqul Islam Newton under the Suppression of Child Abuse and Pornography Control Act. In view of this, on Saturday (May 18) at noon, the main accused in the case, Rafiqul Islam Newton, and his associate, a woman, were arrested from Shah Ali and Mirpur areas of the capital. The intelligence wing of RAB headquarters and an expeditionary team of RAB-12 conducted the operation.
Commander Arafat Islam, director of RAB's law and media wing, gave this information at a press conference at RAB Media Center in the capital's Karwan Bazar on Saturday (May 18) evening.
He said that Rafiqul Islam Newton and his accomplice, a woman, were arrested in raids in Shah Ali and Mirpur areas of the capital today. They were arrested by RAB in a case of Prevention of Abuse of Women and Children and Control of Pornography Act by a female athlete of Jujutsu Association.
In the press conference, the RAB official said that in the initial interrogation, they admitted their involvement in the rape. Rafiqul Islam Newton is a Jujutsu (Japanese Martial Art) trainer. Most of the association's trainees are women. Where as a guardian he was supposed to be responsible for the advancement of young girls, he took advantage of the girls' weakness and tried to exploit his inferiority complex.
Commander Arafat Islam said that Rafiqul Islam used to commit immoral activities by raping or blackmailing minor female athletes of Newton Association. If someone got pregnant, he would also abort them. Besides, he entered the changing room of the girls and forcibly raped them, recorded videos and took nude pictures. Later, he raped her repeatedly by blackmailing her to spread the nude pictures and videos on social media.
This spokesperson of RAB said that when a victim filed a case, the accused changed their location and hid in different parts of the country to avoid the arrest of the law and order forces.
The second accused in the case, Newton's associate female athlete, has already been handed over to the capital's Sher Bangla Nagar police station.
